The first quarter is traditionally a time for summarizing the past year, crystallizing perspectives for the coming months, and predicting upcoming challenges. The same is true for Finture. Last year was challenging for us in many respects, and the forthcoming year appears full of challenges and opportunities. Therefore, we asked our leaders to summarize the past year and share their perspectives for 2024.
Behind us – 2023
2023 was a challenging year in the global political and economic reckoning – recalls Radek Bzoma, CEO of Finture – but also in a local context. Those with ambitious business plans had to execute them in an unfriendly economic environment.
It was also a time of revolution for everyone – GenAI, LLMs, and GenArt were conquering the world and capturing the general public's interest, starting new broad discussions on the development of the technology industry.
For Finture, 2023 was a year of transformation – we reorganized our work, improved processes, looked into new markets, and explored methods of communication and ways to reach customers. We also worked more closely with our sister company, Exorigo-Upos, than in previous years.
We also increased activities aimed at diversifying our Clients, both domestically and abroad – adds Grzegorz Popielnicki, responsible for the banking sector – thanks to which we can boast new cooperations. Still intensively developing Flowee and presenting the tool to potential clients, we also began work on the Outsourcing area and Finture's comprehensive offer.
Flowee is a tool for optimizing and automating employees' work in large organizations. For Marcin Kirilenko – Flowee's Product Owner, Director of Insurance, and member of the Finture Board) the development of this tool marked the year 2023. Our experiences from this year show that the market is mainly looking for specific, tested-in organizational solutions that automate and optimize. Decision-makers are not willing to take the risk of optimization on their own. 2023 was, after all, a year of inflation and rising costs. Those who did not stop new initiatives at least analyzed the business justification of each proposed initiative more carefully than usual.
Although the market could observe an increase in caution, at least one area was experiencing its great moment. The year 2023 can be called the "year of the beginning of the AI revolution" – says Adam Skąpski, in charge of the R&D department at Finture. – Its consequences will be far-reaching. The fact that we managed to organize the work of the R&D department this year so that we can also work with it fills me with optimism for the coming years.
The current organization of the R&D department also allows for creating new dynamics in the company.
Any company project can report to the R&D department with any problem – and the people from the project are sure that they will not be left alone. We also created a cycle of technical meetings, strengthening the internal atmosphere of sharing knowledge and experiences.
I consider the company integration trip – adds Adam – a significant point in 2023. In my opinion, it showed that such initiatives are all the more important the closer we get to a completely remote work model.
Above all, we focused on integration! – echoes him Katarzyna Tarasiewicz, HR Manager. – We went on our first integration trip, and it confirmed that nothing connects with friends from the team like discovering new places, sharing meals, joy, and having fun.
But 2023 in Finture also emphasizes the development of Employees and their competencies – we implemented a training program and will soon finish working on the 360 feedback process for the entire company.
Ahead of us – 2024
As one can see, although full of challenges, the year 2023 in Finture was good, allowing us to look optimistically at what 2024 brings. So, how do our leaders see the year 2024, and what will be the axis of business development for them?
What will 2024 be like? Dynamic. – There's no doubt Radek Bzoma – Changes in banking law (loan holidays, 2% loan, etc.) will impose changes in existing software, increase complexity, and force further integrations (PSD3).
It will also be a year under the sign of corporate responsibility. The entry into force of ESG reporting will influence organizations to undertake various positive social initiatives and reduce greenwashing in the public space.
The entry into force of the AI Act, regulating work on AI, will also be significant. GenAI and AGI will become accelerators of new solutions and businesses.
We cannot count on the absence of political and economic crises. However, I believe we will learn to manage and respond to them better.
For Finture, 2024 will be a breakthrough and developmental year.
We will see the fruits of the changes we have been intensively working on throughout the past year. Thanks to them, I hope we will be like a speedboat that dynamically moves forward despite the waves. This will allow us to venture into new markets, including foreign ones.
Krzysztof Chyliński, Sales Director, sees this year's challenges similarly.
The most current challenge is the expectation of faster changes in environments forced by, among others, increasing pressure from customers.
The digitization and restructuring of traditional sales and distribution channels for goods and services will require investment in IT. A more significant portion of the pie will be consumed by those IT companies that, in addition to offering development services and code maintenance, can support customers already at the planning and design stage of new solutions.
Grzegorz Popielnicki, Director of Banking, predicts an economic revival and an upturn in the IT sector in Poland in 2024. – The hype around AI will still be significant, but I bet on a downward trend in its utilization possibilities. We will move to areas where it can be used. In Finture, digital transformation and increasing automation in business processes at our Clients will continue to lead the way.
Adam Skąpski, in charge of our R&D, sees 2024 as a year of legal battles between creators and companies that trained AI models on those creators' content. – How these legal disputes are resolved will significantly influence the direction and degree of AI development. Despite these legal turbulences, AI will continue to be a hot topic, and the first solutions for large companies based on this technology will appear.
In Finture, 2024 will be a year of searching for new development paths. We will improve the comfort of work in the company through better knowledge exchange systems and organizing some areas. I am optimistic about this year.
Marcin Kirilenko, Product Owner of Flowee and Director of Insurance, also sees 2024 as full of promising prospects. – I see these prospects, especially in the context of the growing influence of artificial intelligence on the current operational work of teams at our clients. We want to meet these expectations and expand our offer to include the use of GenAI in the solutions we offer. Strategically, we are in a good place.
In HR, 2024 will also be marked by an individual approach to HR processes. – We will focus on the feedback process – reveals plans Katarzyna Tarasiewicz, HR Manager – and the values flowing from it for Finture as a company and as a community. We will automate the recruitment process using our solution – Flowee and AI. We hope that feedback from our employees will allow us to create an even better place to work and develop HR services – from the hiring process through onboarding to the broad development of competencies.
We also keep pursuing actions for diversity, equality, and inclusivity. Summing up – 2024 will be the year of wellbeing in Finture.
