EVENT STORMING Method

Mapping a specific business domain during EventStorming workshops is based on a unified notation focusing on four fundamental elements:
Workshop participants (a maximum of 5-6 people) start by identifying individual activities within a specific business area or within a named process (operational, sales, administrative, etc.).

Documented view of processes

The inventory of processes can proceed iteratively, allowing for a gradual deep dive into process details. This can include:

  • Activity map built during the first EventStorming workshops, along with a view of information and data flow, actors, and identification of systems involved in manual activities.

 

  • Process Diagrams including individual actors and key points (steps) of the process (pools, swimlanes)

 

  • Modeling based on the widely understood BPMN 2.0 notation. Process diagrams can be built to include additional elements such as rules, permissions, conditional logic, and external integrations. We can also create implementation models – detailed use-case-level documentation ready for development.
