Integration of the new eCommerce platform with existing systems

Client

Large clothing company from Great Britain

Expectations

The client was creating a new online store based on a ready-made eCommerce solution - BigCommerce and expected support in integration

Project

The client decided to launch a new online store to better handle eCommerce orders. The main goal of the project was to integrate the new eCommerce platform with the existing systems for completing and handling online orders. The issue of the project was the implementation of integration without the use of the webhook mechanism due to the client's security concerns. Therefore, a mechanism was created to cyclically download new orders and changes to already placed ones in such a way that no data is omitted and is efficiently transferred to internal systems. As part of the project, integration was also performed in the other direction - updating the status of orders in the eCommerce platform.

The project was carried out in a hybrid model, where the team was composed of both the client's employees and qualified Finture developers with technical and organizational support from experienced consultants, conducted entirely in English.

Results

Thanks to the work of Finture's qualified team, we managed to implement all project assumptions and launch these integrations in production. This allowed the client to handle several thousand online orders a day.
