Expectations
The client expected a solution supporting internal IT processes in the field of automation of access management to IT resources - inference, approval, commissioning. With a large employee turnover (over 10,000 employees, including couriers), the client needed a solution to organize the processes that would reduce the service time, the risk of making a mistake, and thus improve safety, limiting access to the necessary minimum.
Project
The client had focused for years on business processes, postponing the automation of internal IT processes. However, frequent employee turnover and the need to address security issues elevated the priority of the IT4IT solution.
First, a major project challenge was to inventory all processes and how they were executed. Second, it required proper standardization of workflows and defining the approval levels necessary to launch them. Finally, automatic approvals and automated permission renewals were just some of the improvements proposed by Finture.
The use of a BPMS-class tool (webMethods) also addressed the need for fast reaction and process changes. As a result, the solution was successfully implemented within the client’s infrastructure.
Results
The Client’s employees use the solution extensively for every change request (permissions, access rights, etc.) submitted to the IT department. As a result, the process enables tracking the status and completion time of each request.
