Challenge

One customer application – four processes and dozens of systems on the bank’s side

PKO BP has decided to allow people who have not previously been customers of the bank to purchase bonds. The condition: the entire process must be carried out remotely – via the IKO app or on the website – without visiting a branch and without opening an account beforehand. For the customer, this is a single, seamless application. For the bank, however, it involves several independent processes that were developed at different times and by different teams: remote authentication with the creation of a customer file, an AML questionnaire, a MiFID questionnaire, and the actual purchase of bonds with the opening of a registration account. Each of these had to be redesigned, adapted or integrated – so that the customer would not notice any seams. On top of that, there was the schedule: just over three months to complete the project, and during the summer holidays.

Key Requirement

The process from viewing a bond offer to purchasing the bonds takes no more than a few minutes – with remote identity verification via mObywatel, a set of questionnaires and declarations, the signing of the contract and the opening of a registration account, all in one go.

Project

Process orchestration on the banking framework side

Finture was responsible for developing the processes and integrating them within the banking framework – from the forms visible to the customer to the entire back-end logic that handles their completion and transfers the entered data to the bank’s and brokerage firm’s various systems.

The application to purchase bonds consists of four steps:

  1. The NTB (New To Bank) bond process – the main process. Designed and developed by Finture. It presents the client with the bond offer, the necessary documents and declarations, opens a registration account, processes the purchase of bonds, and manages integrations with the brokerage firm’s systems and other processes.
  2. Remote client authentication with verification and the creation or updating of a client file. The process has been fully tailored by Finture to the requirements of the bond issue. Its significant overhaul has also streamlined the remote creation of client files outside the bond issue process.
  3. AML questionnaire. A process previously carried out by Finture as part of another project, adapted to the bond scenario.
  4. MiFID survey. The process was carried out outside Finture – on our end, we handled the integration for bonds.

The entire system communicates with the bank’s systems via around 50 services on the ESB bus, and with other processes via messages published on Kafka or via MessageBus.

The customer journey in a single application:

  • Bond offering – product and terms presentation
  • Remote authorisation – identity verification via mObywatelRemote authorisation – identity verification via mObywatel
  • Remote authorisation – identity verification via mObywatel
  • AML and MiFID questionnaires – completed within the same workflow
  • Declarations and contract – online confirmation and signing
  • Finalisation – opening a registration account and purchasing bonds

Solution

From proposal to bond in a matter of minutes – implemented in just over 3 months

From 28 September 2026, non-PKO BP customers will be able to purchase bonds entirely online, via the IKO app or the website . The entire process – from the offer, through identity verification, questionnaires and the contract, to the purchase of bonds – takes no more than a few minutes. The impact extends beyond the product itself. The revamped process for remote authentication and customer onboarding also works in other banking scenarios. Furthermore, many components and process elements have been added to libraries, enabling future projects for the brokerage firm to utilise ready-made, tried-and-tested building blocks.

Key Decision

Building components with reuse in mind, rather than for a single implementation. Elements of the bond process have been added to the banking framework’s libraries – future products from the brokerage firm will not have to start from scratch.
