Flowee BPM 2024 – Full Speed Ahead into a Business Adventure!

Witajcie w naszej bajce. Oto świat z Flowee – świat, w którym wszystko płynnie się w biznesie dzieje, gdy wokół, zgodnie z heraklitowską maksymą „wszystko płynie”, rozwija się, zmienia i płynie wartkim nurtem. Zasady rynkowe, wymagania klientów, pracowników i partnerów biznesowych, nowe regulacje i coraz nowsze technologie. Tempo przyspiesza, nurt rwący niby w górskim strumieniu, a Flowee – nadąża, jednocześnie zapewniając korzystającym z niego biznesom spokojny kurs na szerokie wody rynku.

Czym jest
Flowee BPM? To platforma automatyzacji procesów biznesowych (BPA) typu low-code, dzięki której organizacje mogą automatyzować procesy w sposób przejrzysty, szybki i – co nie bez znaczenia – skalowalny.

And since Flowee doesn’t exist in a vacuum, but flows alongside its users in the ever-moving stream of business growth – guiding them toward calmer waters – it, too, is not free from the need for continuous improvement.

In 2024, we didn’t rest on our laurels.
We remained true to the principle that there is always – always – room for enhancement and progress.
If we want to keep up with the fast-moving current of change, improvements aren’t just an option – they are a necessity.

And although the business philosophy behind Flowee is a vast topic – a river in itself – let’s step onto the shore for a moment.
We’ll move on to the specifics to answer one important question we’re asking ourselves at the start of the new year:
What’s new in Flowee BPM in 2024?

In short

‘Falls’ not so scary with Kafka – Data monitoring with a touch of Confucius

Oh, how many times have we read or heard that famous line: “Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.” Quoted and paraphrased here and there, in literature and pop culture, Confucius must be pretty confused by now that this is the one quote of his that gained such widespread fame. And yet, there’s truth in it. A “fall” in the form of data inconsistency or system overload can certainly keep many organizations up at night. So, we decided to bring Confucian wisdom face to face with... Kafka (though not the one from The Trial). By implementing Apache Kafka as an internal transport layer, we’ve made it so that — in a truly Kafka-esque and quantum fashion — in Flowee BPM, you can fall and not fall at the same time!

Such a transport layer can be compared to a data highway network—if one of the roads is temporarily closed, the "traffic" (i.e., messages) still flows via alternative routes. This means that despite a "fall," the organization does not lose efficiency, and processes remain fluid. Kafka supports thousands of real-time messages, ensuring smooth data exchange between Flowee modules. When business needs grow, it allows for infrastructure expansion without disruptions or downtime. Thanks to queuing and replication mechanisms (the data highways mentioned earlier), the risk of message loss is minimized.

Performance, scalability, resilience, and smooth operation. Both Confucius and Heraclitus would be pleased!

Stoic Redundancy – A Pillar of Peace in Business

Is the entire Internet urging you, too, to embrace the timeless wisdom and mindset of the Stoics? While Marcus Aurelius or Seneca probably couldn’t have imagined the possibilities of today’s technology, their reflections remain relevant and useful. Not only in life or business — but even… in designing business process automation platforms.

Following this principle — and wanting to offer Flowee users true peace of mind — we focused on solutions that make this possible in the IT context. Full component redundancy in the form of a cluster is our safeguard against the whims of Fortune and system failures. When one part of the system falters due to fate, another immediately takes over its role.

Kierując się tą zasadą, i chcąc zapewnić użytkownikom Flowee właśnie spokój ducha, postawiliśmy na rozwiązania, które to umożliwiają w kontekście IT. Pełna redundancja komponentów w postaci klastra to nasze zabezpieczenie przed kaprysami Fortuny i systemowymi awariami. Gdy jeden element systemu zawodzi pod wpływem losu, inny natychmiast przejmuje jego rolę.

The result?
No downtime, uninterrupted operations, and seamless processes — the business runs like a well-coordinated orchestra.

Thanks to the Flowee BPM cluster, the platform gains stability — a failure of one node does not affect the entire system. It also gains performance — tasks are distributed across multiple instances, reducing response times. And it gains scalability — when the load increases, it's enough to add a new node to the existing infrastructure.

On the Trail – Prometheus and Grafana: Dr. Watson and Sherlock Holmes Monitoring Your System

“Control is the highest form of trust” — managers and team leads often joke under their breath.
We’d like to add a younger sibling to this overused phrase (which doesn’t always work well in human relationships): monitoring is the highest form of control.

What sounds like an Orwellian nightmare in a human context,in the world of business process continuity seems like a dream come true. Not just the dream of the most famous detective, but also the vision of one of the founding fathers of philosophy – Aristotle.

Driven by a desire to categorize and understand the causes of everything, Aristotle would certainly rejoice at seeing how Flowee’s Prometheus and Grafana ensure that nothing escapes notice.

Prometheus gathers metrics and indicators about system performance—data on performance, resource usage, and query count.

Grafana visualizes the collected data on intuitive dashboards, enabling the IT department to analyze and diagnose issues.

This makes it possible to assess the platform’s condition at any time, determine whether it is functioning optimally, and quickly identify the causes of any problems before they escalate into a crisis.

Stopping the Current to Move Business Forward – The Client-Centric Flowee System

Permissions 2.0 and Multilingual Support

Every dynamically growing business will, sooner or later, go beyond the boundaries of its own language.
And while Ludwig Wittgenstein had different, more philosophical language limitations in mind, he likely wouldn’t object to how technology helps us overcome such barriers today.
Modern tools allow us to communicate and collaborate smoothly with people who speak entirely different languages. Thanks to them, we can freely play various "games" – linguistic, business, or process-related – regardless of the language of the other person.

At Flowee, every client – regardless of their country – can use the platform in their own language.
This solution increases comfort, simplifies work, and shortens implementation time – no matter the location or team.

Additionally, we have expanded access rights management.

Dzięki temu zarządzanie procesami może odbywać się w dowolnym języku.
Jednocześnie zachowane jest pełne bezpieczeństwo – nikt nie uzyska dostępu tam, gdzie nie powinien.

The Augean Library? Artifact Versioning to the Rescue!

Do you remember the 12 labors of Hercules? One of them was to clean the Augean stables. The clever hero diverted a river to wash everything away. This drastic method worked in myth but wouldn’t be very helpful for managing files and processes. Washing out all the content would leave us with nothing!

Instead of risking chaos, Flowee introduced artifact versioning. Every new implementation or change is saved—like a new, revised edition of a book. If needed, you can always access previous versions to track changes or revert to an earlier state.

Diversifying Engines – Various BPM Engines (Not Just Camunda 7)

This is one of the key features of the “new Flowee” – the ability to use different BPM engines. This means that an organization using the platform is not limited to a single option. In addition to the popular Camunda 7, it can choose a process orchestration engine that best suits its needs. This offers not only “freedom of choice,” but most importantly, flexibility – one of the foundations of effective process management. It also increases independence, as not everything relies on a single solution. And where independence from external factors grows, so does the potential for greater stability and easier scalability.

Ad Hoc Tasks and Process-Building Improvements

We all want Flowee to enable quick and efficient action. To meet this need, we enriched the platform with ad hoc tasks, allowing for one-time actions in processes. We also introduced several editor improvements, including element copying (who doesn’t love Ctrl + V?) and grouping settings.

Client Portal – No More Email Overload

“This meeting could have been an email"? Or better yet, "This email could have been one click?" That’s where Flowee’s Client Portal comes in. External users can complete tasks, track progress, and share information with the organization—all in one friendly interface. No more chaotic email threads or messages lost in spam folders. The Client Portal simplifies work, much like upgrading from a stool to a next-gen office chair.

Thanks to all of this, Flowee operates like a symphony orchestra. Each instrument – module, process, or integration – plays in perfect harmony. And you can calmly tune in to the melody of growing business efficiency.

Before automating processes, one must identify data sources, prepare the technological environment, and standardize procedures. Only then can effective business process automation be carried out.

No Fear or Trembling – A Word on Security

Where business and technology meet, security must never be overlooked. The implemented solutions need to be tailored to the specifics of the protected tools and processes. In the case of Flowee, the implementation of Apache Kafka, clusters, monitoring, and enhanced Permissions 2.0 significantly strengthened the platform’s “security package.” Authorization mechanisms have been improved thanks to Permissions 2.0. Downtime is prevented by redundancy and clustering. Response speed to unauthorized access attempts or malfunctions is increased by Prometheus and Grafana. And the risk of data leakage is clearly reduced by the possibility of communication via the Customer Portal.

A Platform for Every Business Philosophy

Thanks to the 2024 updates, Flowee is more flexible, efficient, and secure than ever. Above all, it enables organizations to operate efficiently and adapt to market realities in real time. What does working with Flowee give you?

Peace of mind – thanks to modern security and effective monitoring.

Flexibility and speed – with tasks and information exchanged via the Client Portal.

High performance – Kafka, clusters, and a cohesive architecture: everything running better than a Swiss watch (since a watch rarely "reschedules" a task in case of a failure).

Full control – through artifact versioning and permissions 2.0, among others.
